Do you know what’s better than traveling to a fantastic city and enjoying the hustle and bustle of an entirely different setting? Traveling to a gorgeous island and having a relaxing holiday in a place of serene beauty!
That’s right, islands are unique in that they’re normally scarcely populated, free from all the massive skyscrapers and bust roads that cities boast, and full of natural beauty. So, here are some of the top islands worth visiting in the world:
We travel all the way over to Greece for this next island; Santorini. There are so many amazing islands around Greece – Mykonos, Corfu, and Crete, to name a few. But. Santorini takes the biscuit as it’s just unbelievable. You’ll see from whatever photo I’ve chosen (there are so many to pick from) that it looks incredible. The white buildings juxtaposed with the blue accents, there are no words to describe it! There are also so many luxury villas and B&B’s for you to stay in, along with a very active nightlife. Of course, one of the great things about all islands is that you will have some beautiful beaches, and Santorini certainly doesn’t disappoint!
2. Nurai Island
Most of you are probably aware of how amazing Dubai is, right? But, did you know there’s a lovely little private island called Nurai Island just a stone’s throw away? It’s an absolute piece of paradise and a relaxation haven. One of the main reasons to go here is the Zaya Nurai Island private resort. It’s home to so many stunning villas, a whole host of restaurants, and you can even buy a Zaya Nurai island day pass to enjoy it all if you can’t afford to stay there. This is such a lovely little island that offers a stark contrast to the business of Dubai. Plus, hardly anyone goes there so you can join a unique club!
Capri is probably one of the most unique islands on the planet. It simply has it all; amazing shopping venues, phenomenal food, a frickin mountain with stunning views, and so much more! This is a little piece of Italian paradise that’s easy to get to from anywhere along the Amalfi coast – or you can get a boat from Naples as well. The two standout features of this island are definitely Mount Solaro and the Blue Grotto. You can get a lift up to the top of Mount Solaro for stunning views across the whole Amalfi coast and the bay of Naples. For me, the Blue Grotto is the main attraction here. You get in a little boat and paddle into a large cave filled with deep blue water. It literally looks like something out of a film!
I love island hopping because there’s just a different vibe compared to regular traveling. It’s more laid back, a lot more peaceful, and you can really take in the culture and just enjoy yourself. If you ever feel like going away and properly recharging your batteries, then try visiting one of these three amazing islands.
