3 Ways to Spend Tech Free Tuesdays

We’re all agreed that tech is great, right? Being able to sign into Netflix as soon as you get home has to be one of the best ways to unwind. Chatting about it all with your mates on Whatsapp even means you can even be social while you’re doing it!

Like with anything, though, it is possible to get too much of a good thing. If you’re turning to television every night, for example, then you’re probably overdoing. Equally, spending more time chatting with your mates through a screen than in person should be a sign that things aren’t quite right. Before you know it, those feel-good evening habits could see you spiraling downwards.

Luckily, there is a solution to your woes which offers the ideal tech-life balance, and it comes in the form of tech-free Tuesdays. Like meat-free Mondays, this habit can help your health, lifestyle, and eco-footprint all in one. But, before you’re ready to set this as a new year resolution, you might want to keep reading to find out what you can do without tech for one night each week!

1. Find new ways to focus your mind

Tech is excellent because it provides a focus for our minds when we’re trying not to think about work, classes, or whatever. But, how do you focus/clear your mind when tech distractions aren’t an option? Believe it or not, there are plenty of alternatives, some of which can work even better than television. Crafting provides a sharp focus that reaps results, while mala meditation could see you bossing mental clarity like you’d never be able to do with a continually beeping phone. Just start thinking about options like these to help you unwind on Tuesdays instead!

2. Get around to your reading pile already

We’ve all got a pile of books to be read somewhere, but tech often takes up the time we need to read them. With tech-free Tuesdays, you’ll be able to dedicate at least a few hours to reading each week. Again, this can be a great way to focus your mind in healthier places. Plus, you’ll probably learn a load of stuff that technology could never teach you.

3. Spend time with friends

Be honest; how often have you ditched friends because you didn’t want to miss an episode of your favorite show? We’ve all done it, but this is a terrible habit. Tech’s great, but it’s no contest for real-life socialization. Luckily, tech-free Tuesdays provide you with at least one day when you can definitely spend time with mates. Get into this habit, and you might find that spending time in the moment with the people you care about is better for happiness and health than tech could ever be!

We aren’t saying this will be an easy habit to get into because it won’t. This change is guaranteed to come as a shock. But, once tech-free Tuesdays have become a staple part of your routine, you can bet you won’t ever want to be without them!
