4 Ways to Overcome That Tired Look

No matter who you are, we’ve all had those times where someone turns to us and remarks on how tired we look. This stings, even if you do feel like a walking, talking zombie. Nobody wants to look tired, especially considering the stigma that can be associated with it. Sometimes, though, it’s challenging to look refreshed, especially if you’ve been up all night finishing projects or preparing presentations. But, there are a few ways you can overcome that tired look that will help you feel ready to take on the world.

1. Start In the Shower

It can be difficult to drag yourself out of bed and force yourself into the shower, but this is the best way to wake you up and stop you from looking so tired. One of the best ways to do this is to go for the cold brew approach, which starts cold, steams up for the suds, and then gets cold again. It will encourage circulation, which wakes your face up, and when combined with the best facial cleanser, you can scrub your skin and glow you need to feel like a real person before you head out the door.

2. Freshen Up the Eyes

The skin around the eyes is the thinnest on your entire body, and this is why it is usually the palace where tiredness strikes first. Eye drops are a superb place to start with this as they help provide clarity for the whites of your eyes, while anti-puffer rollers will soften the area around the eye and reduce early-morning wrinkles or bags. If you don’t have any of these at the ready, a bag of frozen peas is a useful (and much less expensive) alternative.

3. Blush Over Bronze

Bronzer is the go-to solution for many people when trying to hide their tiredness. However, blusher will restore the glow and provide a peachy, natural look for your skin. Using a blusher can also soften your features while also directing attention from tired parts of the face, especially around the eyes.

By applying blush liberally without making you look like you’ve dressed up as a strawberry in a school play, you can give yourself a healthy look.

4. Pick Bright Colors

It isn’t just working on the skin that will prevent you from looking tired. Bright, fun, and bold colors are all ways for you to consider. Unlike the dull and drab colors typically associated with the office, such as grays and blacks, pick yellows, baby blue, or oranges to promote an energetic appearance.

Even if you feel you’re dragging your feet and are still all fog-brained even after several coffees, these colors will give you the pick-me-up you need to ensure that you look more like someone attentive and energized for whatever the day brings.

Merely eliminating that tired look will make you feel more than ready to overcome whatever life throws at you that day. While there is nothing better than a deep sleep to ensure you don’t look or feel tired, these handy tips will ensure you won’t get any unnecessary comments, allowing you to get on with your day.
