It’s been two years since Andy Grammer last went on tour and last Wednesday Atlanta realized just how much we had missed him. Grammer performed for a packed house at The Loft at Center Stage June 18th and left everyone incredibly impressed by the singer/songwriter. Opening acts Andrew Ripp and Brendan James already had the crowd clapping and even laughing as Grammer and bandmates rushed on stage to kiss Ripp’s face as he joked about the PDA he sees at Grammer’s shows. I will spare you the details of this beautiful moment but I’ll just say I’m really sorry if you missed out.
The Back Home Summer Tour show consisted of a mix of songs from past releases Andy Grammer and Crazy Beautiful and new songs from Magazines Or Novels due out August 5th. Crowd favorites included “Fine By Me” and “Keep Your Head Up” where I watched people of all ages singing at the top of their lungs and dancing to the beat. Then in true Andy Grammer fashion, he proved he just keeps getting better. My favorite part of the night was Grammer performing “Honey, I’m Good.” from his upcoming album because even though no one knew a single word of the song, he still had everyone clapping and singing its catchy lyrics (which were stuck in my head for days!)
All in all, though Grammer has only released two songs off Magazines Or Novels, if Back Home Summer Tour was even a taste of what is to come from the newest album, it is definitely worth the wait.
