When it comes to running a business one of the hardest things to get your head around is social media marketing. Whether you have experience in marketing or not, the world of social media is constantly changing and it can be hard to know where you stand.

One thing that is always certain, though, is that strong social media graphics go a long way when it comes to self-promotion. Not only do they stop people in their tracks when they’re scrolling, but they also encourage interaction and curiosity. With that in mind, here are some top tips for creating the perfect social media graphics online:

1. Ensure You’re Sticking To Your Branding.

One of the most important things you can do when it comes to creating graphics for social media is to ensure you’re sticking to your brand guidelines. People will recognize you for your brand so if you start posting something that is completely out of place, they will start to notice.

The best thing to do is to create some brand guidelines, making sure you stick to them whenever you publish a social media graphic. For tips and tricks when it comes to creating brand guidelines, you can visit this site here.

2. Draft Out What You Have In Mind First.

If you’re struggling to create the design you have in mind, you may want to consider drawing it out first. Whilst this will take a little longer, it’s the best way to physically see what it is you’re picturing in your head. Once you have something to go by, creating your graphics will be a lot easier than you think.

3. Use Sites Like Canva For Pre-made Templates.

One of the hardest things to do when it comes to creating social media graphics is thinking of a design. Whilst it may be better to come up with your own, there are sites that come with ready-made templates built in. One of the best sites, of course, is Canva. With ready-made templates for all social media platforms, you can use this drag and drop platform to create posts in seconds. It has an easy to use interface and in most cases, it’s free to use. For a guide to using Canva, you can visit this site here.

4. Use Stock Image Sites For Incredible Images (snipping).

Another great tool when it comes to creating your own social media graphics is stock image sites. Whether you choose to use one that has a monthly subscription or you choose to use a free one, you can download images on pretty much any subject.

Once you’ve checked the image is available for commercial use, you can then go ahead and use it in your social media graphics. If you’re struggling to make it fit, you can use a snipping tool to ensure you’re the right size.

5. Find Apps That Allow You To Edit On The Go.

Finally, if you’re always on the go and don’t have a lot of time when it comes to making graphics, you may want to consider downloading an app that allows you to create them on your phone. Whether you’re quickly creating something to use on your Instagram Stories or you’re creating a whole campaign, you may be surprised at the things you can do on your phone. Personally, I’m a huge fan of VSCO and Adobe Lightroom Mobile.

Are you looking to create social media graphics online? What can you do to ensure you’re creating something that will make people stop scrolling? If you’re still stuck, check out my consulting services here. Let me know in the comments section below.
