The Happiest Happy Hours in Philadelphia
Written by Whitney Blomquist
Who doesn’t love Happy Hour? Here are a few worth checking out in Philadelphia!
Monday – Friday 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
$3 featured drafts, $3 wine, $4 well drinks, $5 and under appetizers, $2 Yuenglings, $5 Sangrias
It can get a little crowded during Happy Hour, but its worth the congestion. Outdoor seating is a plus and Devils Alley is a great option if you’re in the area but want to avoid the college-bro scene of their neighboring bar, Drinkers.
Monday 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm
$4 draft beers
Memphis Taproom is about 5 miles North of Center City and completely worth the trek. Pushing 100+ bottled beers and constantly rotating their draft menu, you’ll never get bored with their alcohol selection. Be sure to stop by to catch the Phillies game on their projector screen in the beer garden. Choose from a variety of beer and hot dogs out of their funky food truck while you watch. Another highlight: They have a ton of tasty vegan options available in the restaurant!
Monday – Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 5pm-12am, Sunday 8-12am
$3 Lager & Coors Lite Drafts, $3 Micro Brew Drafts. $4 Imported Drafts, $5 House Wine/Cocktails, 1/2 Priced Select Pub Food
Good Irish food and cheap beer, The Bards is our favorite place to grab a drink and play darts. The mixed scene of older and younger folks makes it a friendly place that everyone seems to enjoy!
Monday- Friday 5 pm – 6:30 pm
Happy Hour (5:00 pm – 6:30 pm): $1 Tacos, $2 Tecate Cans, $3 Modelos, $4 House Margaritas
El Rey is not stingy with their Tequila. Two House Margaritas at Happy Hour have me feeling pretty good. It is always busy but thankfully they offer Happy Hour prices in the dining area as well as the bar. I prefer to sit in the dining area because the bar can get so crowded and the dining area has really fun wall decor.
Monday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
$3 Local Drafts, $5 Glasses of Wine, Half priced Oysters
Pub and Kitchen has a rustic feel and is the perfect summer hang out spot. A bit more upscale than most of the spots in my neighborhood, Pub and Kitchen is a classy place with outdoor seating and Philly’s best Bloody Mary, according to Best of Philly 2012. With $2 bar snacks and a reasonably priced glass of wine during Happy Hour, you can’t go wrong.
