With the anticpated release of Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O’s debut solo album, Crush Songs, only a few months away, the singer has finally released a taste of what we can all expect this fall. In the new music video for “Rapt”, O floats hautingly in a pool of water, all sequins and shadows, directed by husband Barney Clay. The commented earlier on her YouTube channel saying “this track is about someone who became a habit that was hard to kick.”
“When I was 27, I crushed a lot,” said O. “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
