Why do we fall Bruce?
So we learn to pick ourselves up.
The much anticipated television show GOTHAM debuts September 22nd! The Batman franchise has gotten a lot of attention over the last decade with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, where we saw a young boy’s world shattered in an instance. The series shows how one bad day can change a life, as billionaire Bruce Wayne is compelled to prevent others from feeling the pain he felt on the night his parents were murdered. Bruce puts on a bat costume to strike fear in the hearts of the crime world. We also get to see how one bad day changed Gotham’s White Knight, Harvey Dent, into a criminal known as Two-Face after the loss of a loved-one. But the show Gotham isn’t about only about Bruce Wayne and his nemeses. It’s about the city of Gotham and rookie detective James Gordon.
Gotham looks to have a grittier feel to it, along the lines of The Dark Knight Trilogy. The show focuses on the young James Gordon, who is trying to make Gotham a safer place. Throughout the show, Gordon has to deal with crime families, corrupt politicians and fellow cops as he tries not to lose himself along the way. We will get to see the early days of some of Batman’s Rogue Gallery. Some of the confirmed villains on the show include The Penguin, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and The Riddler. The show will detail how one bad day shaped them all. But what will the city be like when every day is a bad day?
Gotham has a stellar cast, including Ben McKenzie as James “Jim” Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.
The show is scheduled to premier on September 22, 2014 on FOX. Tune in to decide if the Gotham hype is legit and view the trailer below!
