The exclusive McDonald’s World Cup Party took place in Manhattan this past week on June 5th. We were so excited to get an invite to their fry box launch and to be able to share the event with our readers. After all, if there’s one thing TheUrbanRealist knows how to do, it’s party. For the first time in history, McDonald’s changed the packaging design of their fry boxes on a global scale. The redesigned boxes now showcase an exclusive collection of street art that reflects a love for soccer (or futbol depending where you’re from). As someone who played soccer for 13 years and who also has a deep love affair with french fries, this event was truly something special.
At TheUrbanRealist, we love spending the night on the town and checking out the latest, coolest new things. We also love chatting up new friends with a drink in hand and of course photo-bombing random strangers and celebrities. Lucky for us, the McDonald’s World Cup Party included all of those things. The overall vibe for the celebration was fun, hip and eclectic. The house was packed with ladies in high heels and fitted dresses and men wearing everything under the sun. Some of the celebrities we celebrated with were Tyson Beckford, Victor Cruz and Joshua Jackson and it was a ton of fun to ogle from both a distance and up close.
This McDonald’s event as a whole definitely felt more like a club with it’s fun Brazilian music and drinks galore. A club with live art from the talented Ben Mosely and soccer players juggling a ball back and forth for hours. Don’t forget to add in that this club had french fries, smoothies, chicken nuggets and more being served all night by waiters in full soccer attire. Definitely our type of party! Thank you to all those who followed along on Twitter and Instagram – we’ll definitely be live-tweeting from fun events like this more often!
