I LOVE IT! Icona Pop Delivers at the Miami Stop on Their American Tour

Written by S.Renée

Icona Pop treated fans of the electro house singers to an awesome performance Saturday night in Miami. Held at downtown event venue Grand Central, the futuristically decked out duo performed a slew of tracks, some lesser known than others, but none off the mark, as they all provided the feel good experience known to most that are familiar with their résumé. The event was sponsored by Bed Head, the hair care brand, and guests were allowed to test product, discuss which worked best for their type of hair, and were even given mini-makeovers, courtesy of the style experts manning the tables. All around cool event.

Formed in 2009, the duo combines electro house, punk and indie pop music influences to create a unique sound all their own. Made up of Stockholm natives Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, the ladies met at a party, and within a month, had written enough material for their first full fledged performance as a group. They’ve performed in a number of national and international markets, have appeared on several television shows promoting their biggest hit to date, the care-free, in your face, “I Love It,” and ode to living young wild & free without a care in the world. The duo recently snagged two Teen Choice Awards, one for Choice Music Breakout Group and one for Choice Single: Group.

Very friendly, talented and seemingly approachable, based on their interaction with the crowd, the ladies gave one hell of a performance, and saved “I Love it,” and their latest single, “Girlfriend,” for the end of their set, to everyone’s enjoyment. The duo is slated to continue their tour throughout the fall…if you’re into good music, and love having a good time – AND you like dancing, then this is the show to attend! Check them out in a city near you soon!
