Living My Best Life with Hive Home

There’s very little in this world that we have control over (Have you seen the news?!), so I do everything in my power to create a comfortable home. It’s my sanctuary after tedious work days and long travels. Before my casa can be anything else, it has to be safe. Luckily, I’ve discovered a company that brings me peace of mind and simplicity, rolled into some pretty nifty technology. I dare say it allows me to live brilliantly…Enter Hive Home.

The UK’s leading smart home brand is launching here in the States! Their Hive Welcome Home plan easily turns your house into a smart home, allowing you to manage everything from your phone. Even the most technology illiterate among us can use it! Traveling soon? Pull a Kevin McAllister (without all the hassle- lol Home Alone is still one of my favorite movies) and make it look like someone’s there by turning the lights on and off remotely using the Hive app. This is hands down my favorite feature with Hive. Since I have two large fur babies, in the past I’ve just left the lights on in the middle of the afternoon in case I didn’t come home before dark. Now with the Hive Active Light, that’s no longer an issue. If anything sketchy happens while you’re out of town, you’ll be the first to know thanks to the Hive Motion Sensor. Coming home to a dark house? Connect your Hive Motion Sensor to your Hive Active Light. As soon as you open the door the lights will turn on. Can’t remember if you turned your flat iron off? Check on it, using your Hive Active Plug and turn it off via the app.

You can even control the thermostat to make sure you’re not wasting energy. Ready to have your mind blown? The Hive Multizone can create up to three different temperature zones in your home! No more fighting over who’s too hot and who’s too cold!

Hive takes things a step further by connecting to your Amazon Echo, too! Remember the infomercials for The Clapper back in the day? Now, all you have to say is, “Alexa, lights on!” Hive works with IFTTT, as well (the If This, Then That app that many of us rely on), meaning you can connect to your weather app and the lights will turn on if a storm is brewing, or the air will kick on when you’re using an app to map your run, for example. WE ARE LIVING IN THE FUTURE, PEOPLE!

Subscription-based smart home plans range from $9.99 to $39.99 a month, so there’s something for every budget. The Hive Welcome Home Starter Plan is a great place to start. It comes with a Hive Hub, a Hive Active Plug, two Hive Active Lights, and two window or door sensors. After you get the hang of it (which, I promise, will be quickly), you can upgrade. Just install the Hive mobile app and you’re good to go.

Hive is easy to customize and incorporate into your life. If I can install it, anyone can! And you’ll have access to on-demand customer service and ongoing warranty. (If you have any trouble at all, their website has tons of helpful videos to lend a hand.)

Like many, I worry too much, but now I think less and less about budgeting for a high electric bill or whether my home is safe while I’m traveling. To put it plainly, Hive makes my home a better place to live, and allows me to focus on the important things in life.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hive. The opinions and text are all mine.
