Since living in Atlanta, I’ve desperately missed spending my birthdays at the beach like I did back when I lived in Miami. This year I knew I had to switch it up- so I decided to spend my birthday week in Tulum! Even with a couple of setbacks in the beginning of my trip (I’ll spare you the details), it eded up being one of the best trips I’ve taken all year!

tulum beach is beautiful

My friend Courtney joined me a few days into my trip and we had such a great time. First off, let me start by saying that as much as I love the beach- the actual town of Tulum is INCREDIBLE! It’s so incredible, that I preferred that area over the beach scene (I’ll go into further detail about that in another blog post).

tulum is more than just a beach

Thankfully, we stayed at this gorgeous hotel in town called Central Park that owns a sister property on the beach called Los Amigos Beach Club & Hotel. Because the two hotels are partners, we were able to take the Central Park shuttle to the Los Amigos Beach Club and hang there. There is a $30 spending requirement per person at the beach club which just means you’ve got to buy food/drinks which you’d be doing anyway!

Los Amigos Beach Club was amazing and had all of the chill, beach vibes we were hoping for! One thing that really stuck out to me about this particular beach club is that the food was actually delicious! I’ve been to beach clubs in the past where the fare is subpar and the drinks are watered down. That’s not the case at Los Amigos!

They even gave us a free sample of this new mezcal they’re now serving called Creyente. Anyone who knows me well, knows I’m obsessed with mezcal so this was right up my alley!

If you’re heading to Tulum and want to experience the beach without having to stay at the beach the entire time, I definitely recommend staying at Central Park Hotel and visiting Los Amigos Beach Club! I’ll be sharing more blog posts about Tulum, but in the meantime, check out my Instagram page and stories to learn more about what we did there! Also, DM me on Instagram if you have any questions about Tulum!
