So if I’m completely honest, I’ve been dealing with some serious depression recently. It comes in waves. I won’t bore you with the details, but these past few months have been a bit of a drag. It’s not even that anything has really changed. I just constantly feel tired and exhausted as soon as I wake up. I know positivity and our actions and behavior can make all of the difference. So I wanted to share with you a few things I’ve been trying to do to get myself out of this slump.
1. Changing your whole mindset.
One of the first things to consider would be changing your mindset completely. It is all about changing your thought process and the positive language that you use. Feeling grateful for everything that is going well in your life and not focusing on the beta I’ve or bad situations. Not sure how to get started? Check this out.
2. Volunteering on different projects.
The next thing you could consider doing would be volunteering. This can give you all of the great feeling so helping and making a difference in the local community, your society or even further afield. Projects like Habitat for Humanity or similar organisations can help you get involved when it comes to different projects. It can also help you to make a real difference to how you feel. You could also consider volunteering for things further afield, it might be volunteering abroad in less fortunate countries.
3. Helping others when they need it the most.
Sometimes you may find that there are people who need help. Perhaps they are going through a tough time, grieving, or even things like debt issues or problems at home. Not everyone can ask for help, but you can foresee what someone might need and help in anyway you can. It might be making a meal or simply spending time with them, but it could make a real difference to their life. It might sound really simple, but it could make someone’s day, and it can really be the simplest of things that make have the biggest impact.
4. Exercising and changing your diet.
It might be simple, but changing your lifestyle in the way of being more active and exercising as well as a focus on a healthy and balanced diet could make a drastic difference to your lifestyle and how you feel. You may find that you sleep better, have more energy and look and feel better than ever. Simple changes to you and the family lifestyle could make the biggest changes in your behaviour and how you feel moving forward.
5. Having the confidence to step out of your comfort zone.
Finally, stepping out of your comfort zone and having the confidence to do it are two separate things. Having confidence is a learned skill and not something you are born with, but without confidence you are less likely to take risks, try new things, and step out of that comfort zone. Building up your confidence and doing different things could make a big difference to your life. Perhaps opening up career progression opportunities, memories that you can make, and doors that were once closed.
I hope that this has given you something to think about when it comes to making a difference to your life! What lifehacks do you use to spark change in your own life? Share in the comments below!
