Interviewed By Danasia Fantastic
This week we sit down with Miami fashion blogger and store owner (www.filthymagic.com), Ria Michelle of RiaMichelle.com.
What made you decide to start blogging?
I’ve always had an internet addiction and loved having a creative outlet online.
How would you describe your personal sense of style?
My style is versatile because I dress for my mood, but it’s usually bold and playful.
Any advice for someone stuck in a fashion rut?
Challenge yourself, step a little outside of your comfort zone with something very different from anything else you own.
Can you name one of your style icons and why?
I don’t really do icons. I’m inspired by all different types of people at different times for different reasons. When people ask me this question I usually try to brainstorm really quick for someone’s style I like and I can come up with great women with sick style like Miroslava Duma, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Rachel Zoe, Monica Rose etc. I feel like if that person is iconic to you, it would be a no brainer. I wouldn’t even have to think about it. I can’t figure out if I’m just not that kind of person or I haven’t found one yet.
What are three items of clothing or accessories you cannot live without?
I can’t live without a really great hat, lipstick and a platformed lace up boot.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by anything and everything, music, my friends, the internet. It’s a window to everything you’ve ever wanted to know about anything. It doesn’t get any better, we are really lucky to have this available to us.
What words do you live by?
Be authentic.
Have you ever experienced the quarter-life crisis?
Oh yes for sure. I was living in Orlando at the time, I broke up with my then boyfriend and moved to New York City for about 6 months. I didn’t get back on track until a few months after I returned.
What are 5 Things You’d Tell Your 20 year old Self?
