Located in Puerto Morelos, near Cancun, is a luxurious slice of paradise that takes sustainability seriously. I’m talking about the beautiful Grand Residences Riviera Cancun. Although I was beginning to feel a bit burnt out from so much travel, when I was invited to visit the Grand Residences, I just had to say yes!

My stay there was everything I could have hoped for and more! I was able to soak in breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea in this idyllic landscape, all while being pampered with unrivaled services and amenities. After two months of traveling to cities and mountainous, cold climate locations, it truly was the beach vacation of my dreams.

Grand-Residences-Resort-Riviera-Maya-ReviewUpon arriving, I was at a loss for words. Grand Residences Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, without being pretentious. It was immediately clear that this elegant, five-star resort puts your comfort and enjoyment first with welcome drinks (margaritas upon arrival, plus a bottle of tequila waits in your suite- you know I love my tequila!), a pillow menu, fresh and dry fruit in your room, traditional necklaces, and Bulvari bath amenities. They even have Evian Facial Spray and ice pops in the pool area, too. The food at the pool bar was delicious!

Grand-Residences-Resort-Riviera-Maya-ReviewMy suite was stunning and my favorite part of it was the jacuzzi I had on my patio (if you follow me on Instagram, you saw my tour on Instastories!). I was able to end all my evenings in that jacuzzi which had the most captivating few of the beach.

Grand Residences provides all sorts of incredible amenities like: a tea time experience, catamaran trips, yoga, Zumba, tennis, bike tours, mixology and cooking classes! You can even get a 5-minute sunscreen massage at the pool or on the beach. Basically, you’re guaranteed to leave with a renewed sense of peace and well-being.

Grand-Residences-Resort-Riviera-Maya-ReviewIf these details aren’t enough to set Grand Residences apart from other resorts, their commitment to the environment definitely is. The property was developed in accordance with the strictest ecological codes, and uses cutting-edge, eco-friendly programs to reduce its impact on the planet and protect local wildlife. For example, Grand Residences uses energy-efficient air conditioning, lighting, electrical appliances and water heating systems (90% of all the lighting in Grand Residences is LED). Reverse osmosis technology is used to purify the water. The resort separates all solid waste; and plastics, aluminum and paper are recycled. Whenever possible, the resort uses environmentally friendly cleaning products and is constantly looking for ways to reduce the use of chemicals. Grand Residences staff even participates in beach cleaning and in green awareness workshops. I personally have never stayed at a hotel that was so invested in sustainability.

Grand-Residences-Resort-Riviera-Maya-ReviewThe resort also supports the conservation, social, and cultural causes advocated by the Royal Resorts Foundation. This far-reaching foundation funds the Ciudad de la Alegria, a charitable institution comprising a hospice, orphanage, school, clinic, women’s refuge, and food distribution center among other resources. A resort that gives back? What’s not to love?!

The Royal Resorts Foundation also works to protect the threatened Great Mayan Jungle, which is widely regarded as one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. By protecting the jungle and preventing pollution, the foundation is simultaneously helping to keep underground rivers pure and reducing human impact on the Mesoamerican Reef, the second longest in the world.

As much as I loved my stay at the Grand Residences, what stood out to me the most is that the staff truly seemed close.  They even have a Royal Resorts Employee Relief Fund that helps staff members whose homes have been destroyed or seriously damaged by powerful storms, as well as employees and their families who suffer grave illnesses, major surgeries, and accidents.

With all Grand Residences provides and stands for, it’s hard to find a single negative thing to say about them! Your experience, and the greater impact you’ll have by choosing this experience, is bound to be magical. I highly recommend this resort for anyone who is looking to pamper themselves and live their best life by the beach! To book your stay at the Grand Residences Riviera Cancun visit here.
