When it comes to keeping everything under control, some people seem to have it more covered than others. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a range of ways that you can automate and improve what you do and how you do it. From speeding up your social media to prepping your breakfast. Here are a few ways to keep you in balance.

Cleaning

If you haven’t got the cash to splash on a cleaner, then it might be time to think about a cleaning rota – of sorts. If you live alone, then this is going to be a little bit easier to do. But if you have a housemate or family living with you, you’ll need to arrange something that works for you all. However, many freelancers find that hiring a cleaner once every two weeks means that they can concentrate on work andhave the cleaning done for them.

Social Media

Automating it is a simple and effective way to free up plenty of time if you run any social media management or even just your own. Check out a few online apps like Buffer, Hootsuite, and Missinglettr.

Another great way to make this less heavy as a responsibility is to find a freelancer or a virtual assistant that can manage your accounts for you. Giving you time to work on other aspects of your business.

Appliances

Some things just make the job easier, like a portable HDD for keeping your work safe, extension cables to work anywhere, extra keyboards, a coffee machine, an ice maker, and so on. Having an appliance that makes your life easier, can free up time, and provide you with something you need or want is ideal. So, check the manuals and make sure that you take care of them, or before you know it, you’ll need a dishwasher repair, and a new coffee machine!

Multi-tasking

Millions pride themselves on multitasking, and that is great. But multitasking actually decreases your productivity. Switching between tasks leaves you needing approximately 20 minutes to get back into the task. Which can be classed as time that you’ve lost. Studies show that deep working and intense focus periods can give you a better standard of work.

So where possible, ditch the multi-tasking.

Deadlines

Parkinson’s Law is coming into play here. If there are no deadlines, then a task will get drawn out until it gets completed – whenever that is. So while clients may give you a deadline, set your own for a day or two ahead. And, if you are working on your own projects, then set a deadline and work towards it. Make a note of the steps you’ll need to take to get to the final goal.

List

Always makes lists. They are one of the key ways that people can feel little moments of accomplishment. They can be tracked, which means you will be able to see your progress. As time goes on the most lists you make, the more comfortable you will become with planning in general.

Staying on top of regular chores, finding places to outsource and automate, and consider a business coach to help you on the road to success.
