Welcome to our latest series, UR TRAVEL! We’ll be sharing with you our take on the best hotels and the craziest things to get into in cities and towns around the world!
When I first walked into The Glenn Hotel, I couldn’t help but notice how elegant it was. My eyes were immediately drawn to the dazzling chandelier in the middle of the room. Well, that and the enormous, fully stocked bar. Unfortunately, I was running late for the event I was attending there, so after being greeted and treated warmly by the front desk, I received my keys and was off to my room.
I loved the look and decor of the room I was in. I’m a fan of bright, poppy colors so the kiwi green wall with the beautiful sheer orange drapes looked like something I’d pick out myself. The room was a little small, but it was so well-kept and clean, it felt bigger than it was. The iPod charging dock alarm clock was clutch because I forgot my charger, and I cannot live without my phone for more than an hour (so sad, but so true). The queen size bed was everything I’ve ever wanted in a bed. It was actually so comfy, it made me even later than I already was because I laid down for a few to take a nap.
The bathroom was picturesque. The shower was squeaky clean and had a window- yes a window. The window had a little metal curtain but definitely showed enough to keep it sexy, which if you’re staying with someone other than your boo, could make it very awkward. I loved the soap, face wash and moisturizer that were in the bathroom too. The only thing missing was toothpaste.
Once I woke up from my nap I showered, dressed and headed to meet up with everyone at the hotel’s restaurant, Glenn’s Kitchen. Where do I begin? Honestly, Glenn’s Kitchen was so tasty I feel like it deserves a review of it’s own. For starters, the calamari fries might have changed my life – no joke. My salmon was cooked to perfection, and the green beans that were on top of it were in a league of their own. The service was amazing. When I couldn’t decide on what to order, they gave helpful suggestions. Before I could order another tequila and OJ, our server brought one out to me. My dining experience at Glenn’s Kitchen left me wanting to go back the following morning for breakfast and every meal after that.
After dinner, we headed to Game-X for a night of fun and gaming. Game-X is an adult arcade that serves drinks and delicious food that just happens to be within walking distance of The Glenn. I’d like to say that I won a ton of games that night, but the truth is I lost almost every game I played. Luckily for me, I wouldn’t have to end my night on such a sour night. After leaving Game-X, we headed back to The Glenn Hotel for a night of champagne and dancing at the Sky Lounge.
The Sky Lounge might be one of the dopest bars I’ve ever been to in Atlanta. The view of the city from the rooftop sets it apart from other lounges in Atlanta. Between the skyline, the drinks and the DJ, you can’t help but have a good time!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Glenn Hotel. Next time you’re in Atlanta and you’re unsure where to stay, this is the hotel for you. Conveniently located near the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, The CNN Center and the Georgia Aquarium, you’ll never run out of things to do while you’re there!
